Runescape Raw Trout Chart from Wikia

Putting On The Trade

Accumulating 13 million raw trout took months of patient buying. Each time raw trout prices dipped to around 10gp, I started buying as much as I could. At the time, I would get 20k raw trout instantly… all of the time. The prices were at historical lows because the supply was large.

Doubling Up On The Trade

Once the Botnuke day went by, prices of the commonly consumed fishes started going up. Swordfish and Sharks were first to show price changes. Soon Tuna, Salmon and Pike joined in the price rise, but lobsters and trout seemed unaffected. During this time, I was even more aggressive in my purchasing of raw trout.

Why Raw Trout and Not Trout?

Trout has proven it would have been a fantastic investment – but the rapid price rise in cooked trout indicated there is a shortage of them in the markets now… and that may well be because I have horded so many raw trout that have never been cooked!!

However, that’s not why I bought raw instead of cooked trout. I made this choice because the raw version of all other fishes is more costly than the cooked version – but not for trout… so I bought into raw trout, thinking this imbalance would correct itself and soon raw trout would be more costly than trout… so far that has not proven to be the case.

The Present Day – January 25, 2012

Currently, I’m logging into the game several times a day checking to see if it’s time to sell my inventory.

From this time on, I will record how I’m selling out of this position here, and make comments as I go along.

Free Guide Open To The Public

I’d like to thank Sonu Dangee for the Merchanting Commentary below. There some interesting market observations here, so the guide was worth paying for and it’s worth putting on the public area of the website – but this guide is not specific enough to be included in the Paid Pro-Merchanting Area of Lumbridgecity.

There are several different items that have gone up and down in value over the past thirty days. Here’s a look at what the Runescape biggest gainers and losers are on the Grand Exchange.

Runescape Biggest Gainers

Most of the Runescape biggest gainers are small-value materials. The largest price change is through the Crayfish Cage. This product was worth around 9 a month ago. Today it is trading for 85. This is a sudden increase that has made this product more appealing.

The Box Trap has gone from 99 to 314 in the past thirty days. This is one of the top gainers at the Grand Exchange because its value has tripled in the past month. Its value is now around what it was in August 2011. Whether or not the value of the product will go back down is unknown but it has become more valuable again.

The Ancient Cloak has also increased in value. It has gone from 133k thirty days ago to around 216k today. This makes for a 75% increase. This is making for the highest value that the Ancient Cloak has ever been at. This may be a great choice among what item to merchant because the price appears to have gotten steady.

These three items have helped to create a substantial combination of items. These are used as a means of catching food with ease. The Ancient Cloak has also become popular thanks to how it adds to a player’s defense without creating any negative impacts on the attacks that a player can handle. It even adds a +3 prayer bonus.

Runescape Biggest Losers

Some items have been substantially impacted by the Grand Exchange from those who are selling them quickly. The Runescape biggest losers are topped by the Polypore Stick. The product had a large vale when it was first introduced but in the past thirty days it has fallen from 2.9m to 229k. The Polypore Stick works with many benefits and cannot be bought but it will still be a challenge to sell due to how it has declined in value so quickly.

The Grifolic Leggings are also Runescape biggest losers to watch for. These items were originally 1.5m in value thirty days ago. Today these are found for around 535k. This is a decline more than half of what it originally was. This is in spite of the increased magic support and crush protection that the leggings have to offer. This cannot be bought either but it may be sold to people. However, it may not work well among what item to merchant because some may be suspicious over the sudden decline in its value and how its value is still falling.

The Blood Talisman is also falling in value. It was around 6.5k thirty days ago but is now at around 3.5k. It had experienced a minor rise in its value a few weeks ago but it has been dropping in value for the most part in the past thirty days and even from the past three months.

The Blood Talisman may be a good item to merchant thanks to how it allows people to get into the Blood Altar in Meiyerditch. It may help to try and sell this item off at the Grand Exchange as quickly as possible before its value gets at risk of going down even more.

What Does This Mean?

Overall, these three formations are among the most popular and least popular. The formation with the Ancient Cloak, Box Trap and Crayfish Cage has become popular because it involves the protection that comes to a player through these items. It will be easier to stay secure and to get access to more food through these items.

The Blood Talisman, Grifolic Leggings and Polypore Stick are not very popular simply because they are becoming more common. More people are finding these in nature and as a result are choosing to sell off what they have quickly. Anyone who wants these items will be better off simply finding them off of enemies that are defeated around the game.

These rising and falling values for Runescape are important to see. They all relate to the many things that are going in and out of style to see what could or could not become more valuable over time.
